THE IS THE EVENT HELD IN DURHAM, NORTH EAST
Join Saturn Running for our Remembrance run and help us to honour our fallen heroes and earn a fabulous themed medal. The 2025 medal is designed and is a fantastic tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
This is a 6 hour & 32 minutes timed event and you can choose your distance from 5km to ultra. At 11am we will have a 2 minute silence, runners will stop to remember those who bravely fought and gave their lives over 100 years ago and in those conflicts since. We will deduct the 2 minutes from your time in order to give you your running finish time. You can complete as many laps of a 4.37mile (7.0km) looped course along the River Wear as you wish within the 6hr 32min time limit.
The regular course is subject to some change near the time of the event depending on our health and safety review of the course.
We welcome runners of all abilities and as long as you complete at least one lap will earn a stunning remembrance themed medal, although we do hope most runners will continue on the course to take part in the remembrance silence. There is no maximum distance and you can continue running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit! We will also have a 50k option for those wishing to run this distance.
The course is along a beautiful stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required.
All abilities are welcome at our super-inclusive events and we also welcome walkers too.
As long as you complete one lap, you will be an official finisher and you will receive one of our incredible Remembrance medals to honour all the brave soldiers who gave their lives for us. We also have distance pins available for anyone who runs a half-marathon distance or more. Pins available to collect are our Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km and Ultra pins. You will receive one pin on the ribbon of your medal to reflect your achievement.
Absolutely! You earned the calories after all, so all our finishers get a goody bag. As well as our standard goody bag, with a selection of various goodies to choose from, we also have a fabulous vegan goody bag for our vegan runners.
We have a fantastic aid table and drinks table at the start / finish of each lap. There is a great selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items at the aid table.
